    Halton Short Breaks is an exciting FREE monthly club designed for young people (ages 8-17) with disabilities and/or additional needs from Halton.

    Young people get to unleash their creativity with topics like animation, coding, music-making, and green-screen photography, among others! Halton Short Breaks is held once a month, alternating between Runcorn and Widnes, and best of all, the sessions are completely free for any young person aged 8-17 with additional needs who live in Halton.

    At the ladies lounge we try to cover a different topic every week to improve your mental health and boost your mood, including hands on activities for you to enjoy. We’ve been running for the last 3 year with funding from the national lottery.
    We even have podcasts from our sessions from over lockdown. - Broken mind and growing confidence.

    Come and join us take some time out for you, we always have a laugh and if you need to talk we are also peer to peer trained.

    Participants will discover the thrill of coding as they learn to program drones, robots, video games, lights, and even create music. Whether they are a beginner or have some coding experience, all skill levels are welcome to be part of the coding revolution!

  • Men's Shed Group Talks

    Thursday | Cost: Paid

    Men’s Shed Group Talks are for men to discuss a variety of topics that can help improve their health and wellbeing. Discussions are impartial, independent, non-judgmental and non-discriminatory. Introductory sessions are being held on Thursday 21st September and Thursday 5th October at 11-2pm.

    The group is open to men aged 18 and over from Halton and surrounding areas. Subs will be £3 per session and includes tea/coffee and biscuits. Any money over will be spent on activities for the group. As this is a new group, new ideas for group activities such a trips, photography, art, joinery, learning a new instrument, job application tips are welcome!

    Sessions are held approximately 3 times a year. | Cost: Free

    Mindlab is open to all adults in Halton who are struggling with a mental health issue. It is an opportunity for people to meet other people in a joint counselling session – the topics are Managing Emotions, Resilience and Managing Anxiety. We then take participants into our lab and let them try some fully guided science experiments!

    Participants are met in our café area by one of our team and a counsellor from Mind. The group session is held in our lovely Gossage Room in the museum and then participants take part in the interesting science session that relates to the theme of the programme.

    Due to numbers this is currently set at a science session at the end of the programme but when we have a larger group, we like to provide this opportunity after each session.

    Nightstop Communities Northwest are currently running an online Menopause Support group every Wednesday at 11am.

    This is a support group for members of the community who are either going through the menopause, have experienced it, or would like to know more about it to support family or loved ones who are experiencing.

    This is a very informal session, allowing everyone to come together to discuss symptoms, side effects, tried and tested medication, herbal remedies or share stories, everyone is welcome.

    Our menopause support group has gotten off to a fantastic start, and we're still always looking to welcome new women each week. Whether you are going through the menopause, want to know what to look out for, or you just want to be able to talk to people who understand your position, our group is open to all!
