What is it?

Reach for the stars with Halton and St Helens VCA!

With commissioners requiring evidence prospective providers can achieve results before contracts are awarded, HSHVCA’s STAR Standard Foundation Award is a mark of quality that is recognised and respected.

Our STAR Standard Foundation Award - developed mapping the requirements of local funders and commissioners against nationally recognised quality standards - allows voluntary sector groups to demonstrate their value and effectiveness in a practical and relevant manner.

HSHVCA is proud of its STAR status, is your organisation ready to shine like a STAR?

Who is it for?
Voluntary sector organisations and groups, large or small, in Halton and St Helens can work towards the STAR Standard Foundation Award free of charge.

Why do it?

Don’t hide your awesomeness, get your hard work validated!

Achieving the STAR Standard Foundation Award shouts from the rooftop that your organisation makes a difference. The accreditation process confirms to yourself and others that you are ready and able to deliver services to a recognised standard commissioners and funders will want to invest in.

It also makes sure the right people see that you listen to service user and stakeholder feedback and you manage your finances in a way that proves you are sustainable, now and in the future.

Funders and commissioners can be confident that STAR organisations provide a service that will be well-managed and effective.

How to do it?

It couldn’t be easier for STARs-in-the-making to get started.

Register online to access the STAR Standard Foundation Award resources and begin uploading the required documents.

Progress can be saved and once all the evidence is submitted and assessed, the award is made if the standard is attained.

The STAR badge can be proudly displayed by the organisation as a mark of sound governance.

The award is valid for two years whereafter the organisation will need to be reviewed to ensure policy and practices are being updated.
