  • Community Generosity Helps Catalyst Acquire New A3 Scanner

    Catalyst Science Discovery Centre and Museum in Widnes is excited to announce that, thanks to the generous donation of Widnes Rotary Club, they are now able to purchase a state-of-the-art A3 scanner.

    This new equipment will greatly enhance their ability to digitize, preserve, and share important documents, and resources. The larger A3 format means they can now scan materials that were previously too large for standard devices, expanding both the quality and the scope of their work.

  • Halton Virtual School Conference

     

    The Halton Virtual School Conference will be held on Wednesday 22nd October, 8.45am-4pm, at the DCBL stadium.

    The key note speaker will be Ashley John-Baptise. Some of you may recognise Ashley from BBC’s The One Show fame.

    Alongside his role as an award-winning broadcaster and TV presenter, Ashley John-Baptiste is an inspirational speaker who shares his own story of navigating the care system, and is the founder of 'Be Inspired' events which aim to spark aspirations of people who have spent time in care.

  • Volunteer Co-ordinator - Catalyst

     

    Catalyst is undertaking an exciting new project. In 2022, the National Lottery Heritage Fund awarded Catalyst funding for the Development Stage of the Synergy Project which aims to make their heritage accessible to new and underrepresented audiences in an exciting and meaningful way. The project will physically redevelop the heritage galleries and transition spaces, as well as implement a heritage education offer to complement their already successful STEM programme.
