We know that many households and families will be struggling to pay their fuel bills this winter and may also be experiencing food poverty and social isolation. Estimates show that 42% of households in St Helens are likely to be impacted by fuel poverty.
Connecting Health Communities Workshop
Loneliness and social isolation is a serious problem…. It can lead to people dying earlier because of smoking and alcohol consumption for example or/and increasing anxiety levels and poor mental health resulting in self-harm. We need to do something to reduce the number and intensity of people who are feeling lonely or isolated.

They are now promoting a networking event/workshop for professionals from the sports sector to hear from those who have successfully and proactively engaged ethnically diverse communities, people with lived experience of these opportunities (and lack of) and other professionals who are interested in tackling inequalities.
