Building Attachments and Bonds Training - St Helens

St Helens BABS (Building Attachment & Bonds Service) will soon be coming to the St Helens Borough, as a jointly funded partnership (Commissioned by St Helens Council/Best Start for Life programme & Merseyside Violence Reduction Partnership (MVRP) & delivered by Mersey Care NHS Trust).

 

A Bit About St Helens BABS

‘RELATIONSHIPS ARE EVERYTHING!’

BABS is a specialist, therapeutic Parent-Infant Mental Health Service (PIMHS) which will be co-located in St Helens Family Hubs.  BABS will supports families with babies 0-2years, in particular vulnerable/at risk parents with ACES (Adverse Childhood Experiences) to build good, secure bonds and attachment relationships with their babies and break negative transgenerational cycles, offering significant cost savings for the Integrated Care System in both the short and long term.  BABS supports parents to separate out all of the difficulties/issues which pose a risk and get in the way of the relationship with their baby, via the offer of strength-based parent-infant psycho-therapeutic Interventions and support

BABS is made up of a passionate, committed MDT team of Clinical Psychologists/Psychotherapists, Mental Health Practitioner, Specialist Health Visitor, Admin, Clinical Team manager who will be working in collaboration with Family Hub staff, early help workers, children’s social care, health visitors, midwives, other mental health services and 3rd sector/community services to offer a quality parent infant mental health offer to families across St Helens.
