Halton Children and Families services are excited to be recruiting to a new post of Parenting Co-ordinator.   This post is a fixed term 3 year funded post until Sept 2024 to secure a dedicated practitioner who is committed to taking forward Halton’s Parenting offer.

You must have a thorough understanding of the challenges parents face when bringing up children and young people and be alert to the issues facing families in our local communities in today’s society.

Free Vodafone Sims for Charities

Vodafone have launched charities.connected, an initiative giving any charity in the UK the opportunity to apply for free connectivity to help the individuals and families it supports get online and improve its own digital capability.

This is part of Vodafone’s recently announced commitment to tackle digital exclusion and connect one million people by the end of 2022.

Halton Council - Holiday Activity with Food (HAF)

Exciting news! Halton Council are planning to deliver their very own version of HAF throughout the October and February half term holidays. They are working in partnership with some private sector organisations to provide food over the October and February half term breaks to make sure our children don’t go hungry over the holiday periods.

Healthy at Home Link Worker (Halton)

Salary:    £25,000 per annum
Hours of work:    Full time post 36 hours per week
Location of Work: This post will mainly be based at WHHFT, Lovely Lane, Warrington with a minimum of one day per week at VCA, St Maries, Lugsdale Road, Widnes, WA8 6DB
Holidays: 26 days annual leave and 8 public holidays. 
 

Mind St Helens - Newsletter and Update

As our community slowly regains some normality, the St.Helens Mind team is making plans for resuming their services. Thankfully, they were able to change their Befriending Service to telephone befriending at the very start of the pandemic and continued to welcome new  volunteers and referrals for people who were in need of regular one to one support.

However, since early 2020, they  were required to close the majority of their services, as they use public buildings for groups and activities and these were closed due to the pandemic.

Wellbeing Enterprises - Programme of Activities October to December 21

Attached is the latest, exciting new programme from Wellbeing Enterprises for October to December including a few ‘in person’ courses and by special request they have also added a few courses that will be running on a Saturday as well as some that will be in the evening. 

Please promote these within your organisations and forward them onto any of your contacts that you feel may benefit from Wellbeing services.

Together for Our Planet - New Small Grants Programme

On 1 September, The National Lottery Community Fund will open a new funding programme called Together for Our Planet. Later this year, the UK will host the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26). Building on interest and excitement for this international conference, this funding programme will help nurture and develop local ideas through this funding and support a legacy of ongoing climate action projects in hundreds of communities across the UK.

Qwell - Adult Digital Mental Health Support

Qwell (www.qwell.io) is free, safe and an anonymous mental health and wellbeing online service. There are no waiting lists, no referrals and no thresholds required to access Qwell and is delivered by Kooth plc, the UK’s largest digital mental health provider.

Liverpool and Manchester Community Rail Partnership

It is hoped to establish a Community Rail Partnership (CRP) for the Railway lines connecting Liverpool and Manchester, (see attached Route Map).

CRP's are all about communities so at this early stage we are trying to make contact with ordinary local people who care about their communities and who are interested in trying to  improve the impact that the railway has on their local community.
