Across the Borough, many local organisations are working side by side as part of the St Helens Borough Community Food Providers Alliance to create innovative food projects that support individuals and families. By working together - community groups, charities, and the public sector - we’re making sure that everyone has access to delicious, nutritious, and affordable food. From sharing surplus food to promoting smart shopping and cooking, our initiatives help people stretch their budgets while cutting down on waste.

ST HELENS TOGETHER VCFSE FOOD & WIDER ESSENTIALS ASSISTANCE GRANT  (February 2025)

The St Helens Together VCFSE Food & Wider Essentials Assistance Grants has been made available as a result of a local crowdfunding campaign facilitated through St Helens Council and Halton & St Helens VCA along with an allocation of the Government Household Support Fund. The campaign was created specifically for VCFSE organisations to use to support people who are struggling to afford food and wider essentials due to increasing winter pressures along with the ongoing impact of the cost of living.

FREE Managing & Leading in the Voluntary Sector Programme - Starting in FEBRUARY

Whether you are new to volunteering or already working in the sector and interested in progressing into a leadership role, this course provides an ideal introduction to help you succeed in the voluntary sector.

The level 2 course is designed for individuals who are eager to set up their own community activities, as well as for volunteers currently working within the sector who are interested in advancing into leadership and management roles. It also serves as a valuable refresher for those who wish to update and strengthen their knowledge and skills.

St Helens VCFSE - Mental Health Alliance & Marketplace Event - 31st January 2025

Calling all voluntary organisations, charities and social enterprises operating in St Helens, come and join us at our 4th Marketplace event that showcases the many voluntary and community organisations delivering mental wellbeing services. We will be holding this event to on the Friday 31st January 2025.

This will be an opportunity for you to book a stall to showcase your services at our next marketplace event. The agenda for the event will be:
