Youth Fed Multiply Course

 

Youth Fed are offering free, one-day courses called Multiply for St Helens based residents aged 19+.

Learners will gain a basic understanding of finance from reading a bank statement to understanding how tax works.

Learners will be able to identify the different financial elements involved in moving away from home.

They will learn to create their own personal household budget

Will be able to identify where to go to find out more in-depth information on topics, what progression options are available to them and where to go to get help, for example with debt.

There are four main subjects covered:

  1. You and your money – finance basics
  2. ‘When is it payday?’ – budgeting, saving
  3. Independence day – costs involved in moving away from home
  4. Money talks – debt, gambling, credit scores, scams, impact of decision making

This will help:

  • increase knowledge around important life skills of personal finance
  • To build confidence in what can be an overwhelming and complex topic
  • Support people into financial independence
  • Advise where to go to find out more through signposting and additional resources.
