  • Practical Applications: 2 Steps Forward 1 Step Back How Do We Maintain Momentum in Challenging Times - Suicide Bereavement

     

    Throughout September, Harmless is hosting its fourth annual online Suicide Bereavement Conference.

    To mark World Suicide Prevention Day, they will be presenting a series of live webinars examining practical applications for working in suicide bereavement. Sessions take place every Tuesday and Thursday between 10am – 11am and each will be led by an expert in the field.

    Following on from their pledge on National CE Awareness Day 18th March, Halton Safeguarding Team are delighted to announce some sessions being delivered this month (May) on Child Exploitation Awareness.

    Child Exploitation is a type of abuse. When a child or young person is exploited they’re groomed by being given things, like gifts, drugs, money, status and affection. This is usually in exchange for carrying out a criminal activity, known as Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE) or performing sexual activities, known as Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE).

  • Talk On Transcendental Meditation

     

    Tuition in Transcendental Meditation is via a four day course which nationally costs between £300 and £700 per person depending on income.


    The teacher for this area, acting in a voluntary capacity, has received a large amount of money to support teaching those who would learn if they could afford it. The donation means that the same quality of course can be offered at 20% of the usual cost, i.e. between £60 and £140. An offer is also made to teach nurses free of any charge at all.
