Royal Society of Public Health (RSPH) - Free Training

 

The Halton Health Improvement Team have shared details of some free fully funded training available for anyone working with children and young people in Halton. This training is accredited with the Royal Society of Public Health (RSPH).

Details of the course are below. There are places available on the dates listed, but they can also arrange training for groups of 10 or more, also free of charge when working with CYP. 

 

RSPH Level 2 Encouraging a Healthy Weight and Healthy Eating

This qualification is for individuals with an interest in health who are also interested in helping others develop a healthier lifestyle by encouraging people to eat healthily and attain and maintain a healthy weight.

Learners will increase their knowledge and understanding of why individuals may not be at a healthy weight, the effect on health of this, the principles of healthy eating and how individuals can be helped and supported to achieve a healthy weight and eat healthily.

This training is for staff on the front line supporting individuals to make better decisions and supporting behaviour change with families and young people.

This is a 1-day face-to-face course. Fully funded places are available during 2023-24 for practitioners working in Halton with children, young people and families.

RSPH Level 2 Understanding Health Improvement

This course gives the learner an overview of preventative health improvement. It goes through some key principles around behaviour change techniques, how to have a health improvement conversation and support someone to make changes. Wider topics such as health inequalities, and lifestyle subjects including, smoking, alcohol, healthy eating, physical activity, sexual health and mental health are covered.

This course is perfect for you if you want to learn best practice methods for improving the health of the people around you. This course has the most up-to-date reviews of healthcare inequalities and policies within the UK, and is ideal for you even if you already working in a health care related role and want to top-up your knowledge of the current healthcare landscape.
