Free Training For Anyone Who Works With Children And Young People
Halton's Health Improvement Team have a variety of training available for those who work/ volunteer with children and young people.
Children and Young People’s Mental Health Awareness Training
1 ½ Hours
This training will provide you with an understanding of what Mental Health is and will look at conditions that can impact on children and young people’s mental health. The training also provides resources that promote positive mental health through building resilience and wellbeing.

HBC - Funding for Working with Asylum Seekers and Refugees - Attached you will find the application form for the third round of the Our Halton funding programme. Halton Mental Health Hubs Restarting
The Aim of the Hubs is to give the public a direct link to the many different services out there who can provide you with help and support to manage your mental health. If you have a mental health issue, don’t be afraid to talk about it, come along and speak to those who can help.
- Runcorn Shopping City (Main Square) -1st Thursday of every month 9am -2pm
- Greenoaks Shopping Centre Widnes (mobile stall, not a shop unit) - 3rd Wednesday of every month 9am – 2pm
Grants Available From Citizens Advice Halton
CAB are pleased to announce that there is Winter Grant fuel funding available for Halton families and vulnerable persons from Halton Borough Council. The Council is working with the Fuel Bank Foundation and Citizens Advice Halton to offer grants of £49 to help families who need support with their fuel bills. There is funding for families, individuals and adults. To be eligible for the grant the person must have a pre-payment meter installed at the property and be willing to share their contact details with Citizens Advice Halton.

Over the past twelve months Lloyds Bank Foundation have been working across Halton with colleagues and partners to gain an understanding of the issues relating to Food Poverty, with a focus on children and young people and to consider what systems change could be implemented to start to address these issues.
Parenting Co-ordinator
Halton Children and Families services are excited to be recruiting to a new post of Parenting Co-ordinator. This post is a fixed term 3 year funded post until Sept 2024 to secure a dedicated practitioner who is committed to taking forward Halton’s Parenting offer.
You must have a thorough understanding of the challenges parents face when bringing up children and young people and be alert to the issues facing families in our local communities in today’s society.
