Hate Crime Survey - Cheshire
John Dwyer, Police & Crime Commissioner for Cheshire has produced a new survey to find out people's views and experiences about Hate Crime in Cheshire.
As well as asking people about the scope of hate crime, this survey seeks to understand people’s experiences, their knowledge of reporting options and support services, and the reason for any barriers that may exist to reporting incidents.
NHS Night - Halton Veterans
Halton Veterans are holding a NHS night on Friday 29th July at Halton Royal British Legion WA7 2BE. To celebrate the 1st anniversary of the NHS being awarded the George Cross for service during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Improving Communities Awareness Of Cancer VCSE Small Grants Programme
As part of the Cheshire & Merseyside Cancer Alliance CVS Partnership, partners have secured funding to further develop and enhance the work of grass roots voluntary and community groups on improving communities awareness of cancer, early signs & symptoms and screening uptakes across the sub-region. The funding will support very local activity to support communities to engage and be supported with concerns of cancer, early symptoms and cancer screening uptakes.
Halton Levels of Need
Following on from the changes made to the Halton Levels of Need last month, Halton Safeguarding Development Office have sent over their revised ‘What to do if you have a concern about a child’s welfare’ flowchart. You can find the flowchart attached below.
Nightstop Temporary, Emergency Accommodation Availability
Nightstop currently have availability within their Temporary Emergency Accommodation for people who are:
- Homeless or at risk of becoming homeless
- Care Leavers
- Prison Release
- Victims of Domestic Abuse
- Hospital Discharge/Bed Blocking

Halton Pride celebrating 50 years of the Pride
Halton Pride are celebrating 50 years since the first Pride took place from Hyde Park to Trafalgar Square in London on the 1st July 1972.
This is being held on Sunday 14th August 2022 from 12pm-10pm at the Castle pub in Halton village Runcorn. This is a pilot events with views to a bigger two day event in 2023 and annually thereafter.
Sponsored 5K Your Way
Local charity, Widnes and Runcorn Cancer Support Group, are holding a " Sponsored 5K your way" event at 11am on Saturday 23rd July at Victoria Park, Widnes. They need an orange and blue army of support! They are your local Cancer Support Centre providing emotional and psychological support for Halton people who are affected by cancer and would love to see the local community coming together to support others, get some fresh air and movement, recognise the work the charity does and follow the 5K course, perhaps as a tribute to someone you care about who has been affected by cancer.
