ST HELENS TOGETHER VCFSE FOOD & WIDER ESSENTIALS ASSISTANCE GRANT (February 2025)
The St Helens Together VCFSE Food & Wider Essentials Assistance Grants has been made available as a result of a local crowdfunding campaign facilitated through St Helens Council and Halton & St Helens VCA along with an allocation of the Government Household Support Fund. The campaign was created specifically for VCFSE organisations to use to support people who are struggling to afford food and wider essentials due to increasing winter pressures along with the ongoing impact of the cost of living.

FUNDING OPPORTUNITIY - Youth Empowerment Scheme (St Helens)
The scheme, delivered by the Community Foundation for Merseyside (CFM) in partnership with the Police and Crime Commissioner for Merseyside (PCC) and the Merseyside Violence Reduction Partnership (MVRP), is targeted at community projects that offer diversionary activities- particular those that include arts, culture and sports to support young people aged under 25 years who may be more vulnerable to experiencing violence and at risk of anti-social behaviour.
Interventions/programmes delivered must fall into one of the following types:
FUNDING - SUPPORT FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE WITH A LEARNING DISABILITY AND/OR AUTISM
DEADLINE 16th FEBRUARY 2024 -
The aims of this funding are to improve the emotional and mental wellbeing of children and young people with a learning disability and/or autism and support reducing their risk of issues such as:
· Challenging behaviour
· Escalations to mental health crisis
· Breakdowns at home / placements
· Hospital attendances and admissions
· School isolations / exclusions and non-attendance due to emotional wellbeing issue

The bulletin can be found in the attachment below.
In addition to the monthly bulletin, Programmes Office can help you search for external funding via grant searches and support with grant applications. Also offering free workshops to help you to develop a fundraising strategy, basic bid writing, managing your grant plus monitoring & evaluation of grants received.
Landmark £25m Pilkington Trust Transfer to Benefit St Helens Charities
Charities and community groups in Merseyside will receive over £800,000 a year in funding, following the transfer of circa £25 million in assets from the Pilkington Charities Fund to the Community Foundation for Lancashire and Merseyside. The donation is the largest single trust transfer donation in the UK Community Foundations network history, of which there are 47 across the country. The fund will support projects tackling poverty and ill health, with priority given to organisations based in St Helens—the birthplace of the Pilkington legacy.
Parkinson's UK - Grants
Parkinson's UK have asked us to share information about two new grants programmes which are now available for any local community groups and activity providers.
Help for Households in Halton
Halton Borough Counci now have a number of schemes that are available to help you, this is due to funding from the Household Support Fund whish has come to use via Central Government.
These schemes will run from April 2025 until March 2026. Please check below to see if you qualify.
