Funding Opportunity for Halton Community Projects

Funding Applications Now Open Through Halton Housing's Helping Hands Fund

Community groups, charities, and organisations working to make a positive difference in Halton are being encouraged to apply for funding through the Halton Housing Helping Hands Fund, which is now open for applications.

The fund offers grants ranging from £100 to £2,000 to support projects and activities that benefit local communities. Funding is available for initiatives focusing on:

  • Health and wellbeing
  • Employment, skills and training
  • Community improvements
  • Opportunities for children and young people
  • Social inclusion
  • Support for people experiencing hardship or cost of living challenges

The fund can support a wide range of activities, from small community events and one-off sessions to larger programmes, equipment purchases, and longer-term projects.

Three levels of funding are available:

  • £100 to £500 for smaller activities, events, materials, equipment, or room hire.
  • £501 to £1,000 for projects delivered over several sessions, short courses, or initiatives requiring additional resources.
  • £1,001 to £2,000 for larger programmes, significant equipment purchases, longer-term venue hire, or partnership projects designed to create lasting community impact.

The current funding round is open until 22 September 2026, although applications may close earlier if demand is high. Successful applicants will be notified of the outcome on 7 October 2026.

Organisations that have received support through the fund within the previous 12 months are not eligible to apply.

Groups interested in applying can find full details, terms and conditions, and the application form on the Halton Housing website:
