The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport has launched phase one of the Youth Investment Fund (YIF). £10 million is available in small capital grants for youth work providers. The fund will officially open on the 31 Jan. The funding is for small scale capital projects which would cover the costs of building improvements, buying equipment (including IT and vehicles) and furnishings. Because this funding needs to be spent by 31 March 2022, the expectation is that it mainly involves purchasing equipment rather than undertaking major building work. The areas that are eligible to apply for this funding have already been decided.
