Youth Guarantee Trailblazer

Liverpool City Region Launches Youth Advisory Board as Part of Youth Guarantee Trailblazer Programme

The Liverpool City Region (LCR) Combined Authority has been designated by the UK Government as a Youth Guarantee Trailblazer (YGT) area. As part of this designation, a year-long programme of activities will be delivered to support young people aged 18–21 who are not in education, employment, or training (NEET) across the Liverpool City Region.

To ensure that young people’s voices shape the programme, the Combined Authority will establish a Youth Advisory Board (YAB). This board will provide a platform for young people to share feedback and influence the direction of the Trailblazer initiative.

The Combined Authority is particularly keen to hear from individuals who meet any of the following criteria:

  • Aged 18–21 and currently NEET

  • Aged 18–21 with experience of the care system

  • Aged 18–25 who identify as having Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or are neurodiverse

The board will require minimal time commitment, meeting online every two months, with the first session expected to take place in June 2025. Participants may also be invited to take part in additional events connected to the programme.

Community organisations across the Liverpool City Region are encouraged to share this opportunity with any young people who may be eligible and interested:

While the Combined Authority aims to accommodate as many applicants as possible, spaces are limited and not all expressions of interest can be guaranteed a place.
