Halton Family Hubs recently welcomed partners from across the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector to their Best Start in Life Summit at The Heath in Runcorn.
The event brought organisations together to reconnect, share learning and strengthen partnerships, with a shared goal of improving outcomes for children and families across Halton.
A key focus of the summit was school readiness. Partners explored how services, community groups and families can work together to help children develop the communication, social and emotional skills they need to thrive when they start school. Helping children to be ready for school is a shared responsibility, and strong partnerships across the borough are essential to achieving this.
The summit also highlighted the Halton Family Fund, which offers grants of up to £3,000 to organisations delivering activities and support that help children and families thrive. The fund supports projects that contribute to the Family Hubs Start for Life offer and improve outcomes for local families.
Whether you came along to the summit or were unable to attend, organisations are encouraged to explore and apply for this funding opportunity.
Applications are open now and close on 7 August 2026
