Get ready for a month of family fun as the Widnes Duck Hunt takes over the town throughout August, combining a giant duck trail with a fantastic community festival and fundraising event.
Part 1: The Duck Trail (1–30 August)
Forty sponsored ducks will be placed at locations across Widnes, each with its own unique name. Families, friends and local residents are invited to follow the trail and discover all 40 names. Trail maps can be downloaded via the event's Facebook and Instagram channels or accessed through Google Maps.
Part 2: Live Duck Hunt & Duck Festival (30 August)
The fun culminates on Saturday 30 August with a live duck hunt and community festival at Victoria Park, Widnes, from 10am–4pm.
Ten large glitter ducks will be hidden within half a mile of the festival site. Find a duck, bring it back to the organisers and receive a prize! The festival will also feature:
- Community stalls
- Family games
- A teddy bears' picnic
- Live music
- Prize giving
- A prize draw for participants who completed the Duck Trail
The event aims to bring the community together while raising funds for community defibrillators. Duck sponsorships provide the main fundraising income, helping to keep activities affordable for local families. Festival games will cost just 50p per go or five games for £2.
So grab your map, gather the family and get hunting—there are ducks, prizes and plenty of community fun waiting to be discovered this August! 🦆🎉
The team are using 50 ducks for their 50th Birthday's to buy defibrillator #50.
