St Helens Community Groups Invited to Support Refugees and Asylum Seekers

Local community groups are being encouraged to take part in a new initiative aimed at improving support for refugees and asylum seekers living in the borough.

The Refugee Resettlement Service will host a community forum on 22 August 2025 at 1:00 PM in St Helens Town Hall (Pilkington Room), providing an opportunity for local organisations to collaborate, share resources, and address challenges faced by new arrivals.

The event will cover a range of topics including training needs, community grants, translation tools, partnerships, myth-busting, and feature guest speakers. Organisers hope the forum will foster a more welcoming and accessible environment for refugees and asylum seekers to engage with local services and community facilities.
