The Mayor of Halton Fund, The Halton Foundation - Bursaries Available for Vulnerable Young People

Did you know the Mayor of Halton, Kevan Wainwright, in partnership with the Halton Foundation, is providing bursaries for vulnerable young people under 25 to reduce barriers to education, or to purchase smart wear for job interviews.

Bursaries up to £500 are available targeted towards:

  • Young People receiving benefits, or where a Parent/Guardian is receiving benefits who they live with
  • Young People with a disability
  • Young People with Special Educational Needs
  • Care Leavers

The fund has already helped provide IT equipment needed for University and covered travel bus-passes so that young people can get to their course.

‘This has been instrumental support in helping this young person to sustain his place in education!’ – Youth Caseworker following the Mayor of Halton, Halton Foundation grant for a young person who was thinking of dropping out of his course because their family could not afford the bus fare between Runcorn and Liverpool.

Please do spread the word with your colleagues and partners in Halton to encourage eligible young people to apply.

The Mayor of Halton Fund, the Halton Foundation is administered by Community Foundation for Merseyside. Please see the following link for more information and how to apply - Mayor of Halton Fund - The Halton Foundation - CFM
