St Helens Borough Council is pleased to invite the community to the traditional Refugee Week Football Matches, a celebration where refugees, asylum seekers, and local residents come together in the spirit of integration and community cohesion. The event showcases the strength of local communities and their ability to unite people through sport.
The Football Matches will take place on Sunday 15 June 2025 at Ruskin Drive Sports Village, St Helens WA10 6RP. Activities will begin at 14:00, featuring food provided by Café Laziz and a vibrant community atmosphere. Both men’s and women’s matches are scheduled to kick off at 15:00.
Players are still being recruited for both matches, with a particular need for participants in the women’s game. Those interested in playing are encouraged to get in touch as soon as possible to receive further information. Referrals to others who may wish to participate are also welcome.
This invitation may be shared with relevant networks, organisations, or individuals who may be interested in attending or taking part.
