Older residents across Halton are being encouraged to take part in a new survey that will help shape the future of local services, facilities and communities.
Halton Borough Council is working towards becoming a recognised Age-Friendly Community and is seeking feedback from people aged 55 and over about their experiences of living in the borough. The survey aims to identify what matters most to older residents and will be used to inform improvements across a range of areas, including housing, transport, health services and social opportunities.
The council recognises that there is no single definition of an older person and that people aged 55 and over have a wide variety of experiences, needs and aspirations. Through this survey, residents can share their views on what works well in their local area and where improvements could be made.
Responses are anonymous, and participants are encouraged to think about their local neighbourhood when answering the questions. The survey also considers access to services and facilities, including whether they exist and whether residents are able to get to them.
The questionnaire takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and is open until Friday 23 October 2026.

Paper copies of the survey, along with pre-paid return envelopes have been distributed to various locations including:
- Community Centres
- Leisure Centres
- Direct Link Shops
- HBC Care Homes
- Family hubs
- WELL Hub, Runcorn
- GPs
