Halton Borough Council is now consulting on a Draft Housing Strategy 2026-2031. The public consultation runs for six weeks from Friday 3rd October until 23:59 on Sunday 16th November.
The Council’s housing responsibilities and functions are broad. The purpose of the draft Housing Strategy is to provide an up-to-date strategic policy framework for housing to help improve and coordinate delivery by the Council and local partners. These partners include providers of social housing in Halton. The Council is being supported in the production of the Housing Strategy by arc4, housing specialists and research company.
The Council are keen to hear the views of residents, partners and wider stakeholders. The aim of the Draft Housing Strategy is for “Homes That Drive Growth, Opportunity, and Fairness for all in Halton”, and seeks to achieve this through Four Priorities:
- Driving Economic Growth Through Housing-led investment
- Creating Inclusive Housing Markets to Promote Fairness
- Supporting Independent Living, Empowering People, and Strengthening Communities
- Promoting Healthy Homes, Thriving Communities and Resilient Neighbourhoods
