Communities of Practice (COP) - St Helens

Are you part of a voluntary or community sector group working to make a difference? Imagine being part of a space where people facing similar challenges come together to share knowledge, build practical solutions, and support each other. That’s what Communities of Practice (CoPs) are all about.

What is a Community of Practice?

A Community of Practice is a group of people who share a common interest, role, or challenge. These groups meet regularly—online or in person—to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and improve the way they work. For VCFSE organisations, it’s a chance to connect with others who truly understand your goals and the pressures you face

Why Get Involved?

• Learn from real experience – Hear what’s working (and what isn’t) from peers in similar roles or sectors.

• Stay ahead of the curve – Find out about changes in practice, policy, or legislation that could impact your work—before they catch you off guard.

• Save time and resources – Don’t reinvent the wheel. Tap into practical knowledge and proven strategies.

• Build lasting relationships – Grow your network with like-minded practitioners who care about the same issues.

• Influence wider change

Many CoPs feed into strategic discussions and policy development, giving your voice a platform to shape the future.
