Did you know the online spending that your volunteers and supporters are doing can be turned into monetary donations for your organisation?
How it works
Simply set up a free easyfundraising account and every time your supporters shop online this Christmas and beyond, the retailer they shop with shares a percentage of what they’ve spent with your organisation for free – at no cost to the shopper. There are over 7,200 retailers involved in this free scheme, including big names like Amazon, eBay, John Lewis, Etsy, M&S, Screwfix, Waitrose, Argos, Moonpig, Boots, trainline and many others
The great thing about easyfundraising is that it enables people to give to your organisation without it coming directly out of their pockets, which is a very good thing during the cost of living crisis. And with lot more of us planning to do our Christmas shopping online this year, it’s a really good time to give it a try.
It’s completely free to register and use and is open to voluntary organisations of all shape and size – you don’t need to be a charity. What’s more, the funds you raise this way class as unrestricted funds so you can use your donations as you wish.
Here's an example:
Volunteer Chris is buying his mum a jumper for Christmas from M&S. Instead of visiting the M&S website, Chris heads to easyfundraising’s website first and then clicks on the M&S link.
easyfundraising directs Chris to M&S, where he buys that jumper for mum. Because Chris started at easyfundraising first, the homeless shelter he volunteers at will receive a free donation directly from M&S. So, Chris and his mum are s happy, and the homeless shelter is delighted they have benefited from Chris’ smart shopping.
What do other good causes think?
Open Table Network: easyfundraising really is easy! Any community organisation would benefit from using this generous way of raising money for their cause, which is completely free for supporters.
Space Youth Services: I would definitely recommend it to other charities as a simple, straightforward way of raising additional funds that requires little in the way of input and maintenance.
How to get started
- Create your organisation’s profile on the easyfundraising site – it’s free and only takes a few minutes
- Get familiar with easyfundraising - book a call with one of the team, who will show you around, so you are up to speed on how the site works.
- Share the good news - use the pre-built social media copy, images, posters, and flyers in your easyfundraising account to tell your community how easy it is for them to support you when they shop online.
How easyfundraising slots into everyday life
Because we lead busy lives, easyfundraising has built several tools to make it easy for anyone to support your organisation. For online shoppers who shop on laptops and computers, there is a handy reminder that when downloaded, pops up, so they can collect free funding in just one click. Or, for the shopper who shops via their mobile, the easyfundraising app keeps things really simple.
