Free Health & Wellbeing Walks Across Halton: October to December 2026

Looking for a great way to get active, meet new people and explore local green spaces? Active Halton's Health & Wellbeing Walks programme offers a range of free, friendly walks taking place across Halton throughout October, November and December 2026. Whether you're looking for a gentle stroll, a social walk, or an opportunity to improve your physical and mental wellbeing, there is something for everyone. 

The walks are designed to be inclusive and welcoming, with routes varying in length and pace. Many include opportunities to enjoy a chat, meet new people and even stop for a coffee along the way. 

Regular Weekly Walks

Every Tuesday

11.00am - Murdishaw Health Centre, Runcorn

  • Choice of a 30-minute walk or an optional 60-minute route
  • Optional café visit after the walk
  • Meet at Murdishaw Health Centre, Gorsewood Road, WA7 6ES 

6.30pm - Sandymoor, Runcorn

  • Approximately 90-minute walk
  • Meet at the Co-op car park, Otterburn Street, WA7 1XU 

Mindful Walk

Third Tuesday of every month, 1.00pm - Runcorn Hill

  • A relaxed walk incorporating reflections and grounding exercises
  • Meet near Esposito's Café, Highlands Road, WA7 4PX
  • Approximately 60 minutes with an optional café visit afterwards

Every Wednesday

11.00am - Weekly Varied Locations

  • Steady-paced walks of around one hour
  • Different locations each week across Halton and beyond 

Every Tuesday and Thursday

1.00pm - Windmill Hill, Runcorn

  • Easy-paced walk of around one hour
  • Includes a café stop midway through
  • Meet where Southwood Avenue crosses Lockgate West, WA7 6LF 

Every Thursday

10.00am - Victoria Park, Widnes

  • Short 20 to 30-minute walk
  • Can be shortened if required
  • Followed by an optional drink and chat
  • Meet at the Bandstand Café, WA8 6SQ 

Every Friday

10.30am - Men's Walk & Talk, Palacefields

  • Approximately one-hour walk
  • Meet at the Community Shop, Priory House, Northway, WA7 2FS 

1.00pm - Gentle Stroll from St Paul's Health Centre

  • 35 to 45-minute walk along the canal path
  • Meet at St Paul's Health Centre, High Street, Runcorn, WA7 1AB 

Every Sunday

10.00am - Walk from Space, Runcorn Old Town

  • Explore local green spaces
  • Opportunity to talk with a Mental Health Ambassador
  • Meet at Space Café, Regent Street, WA7 1LJ 

11.00am - Moore

  • Approximately 90-minute walk
  • Optional café visit afterwards
  • Meet at The Shed, Moore, WA4 6TU

  • 14 October: Moore Nature Reserve
  • 21 October: Runcorn Town Hall
  • 28 October: Frodsham
  • 4 November: Preston Brook Marina
  • 11 November: Weston
  • 18 November: Sandymoor
  • 25 November: Halton Castle
  • 2 December: Phoenix Park
  • 9 December: Town Park Ski Slope
  • 16 December: Runcorn Old Town

No Wednesday walks will take place on 22 or 30 December.
