Help keep our community warm this winter!
The Halton & St Helens VCA Winter Coat Project is coming to Widnes Market with two special pop-up donation events, giving local people an easy opportunity to donate good-quality, pre-loved winter coats.
We’ll be at Widnes Market on Wednesday 7 October and Wednesday 28 October, from 10am to 3pm, where you can drop off coats and find out more about the Winter Coat Project.
Now in its fifth year, the project brings the community together to help make sure warm winter coats can be passed on to people who need them, while also reducing waste and giving unwanted clothing a new lease of life. Over the past four years, an estimated 5,000 coats have been redistributed across the borough, helping local people stay warm and keeping thousands of coats out of landfill.
What can you donate?
We’re looking for good-quality, clean, pre-loved winter coats that are still in a condition that someone else can enjoy. All sizes are welcome, and every donation can make a difference.
So, if you’ve had a clear-out of your wardrobe or have a winter coat that is no longer needed, why not bring it along when you’re visiting Widnes Market?
Find out about emergency preparedness too
The Widnes Market events will also provide an opportunity to talk to the VCA team about Resilience in Action: Emergency Preparedness.
Come along, have a chat and find out more about how individuals, communities and local organisations can build resilience and be better prepared to respond to emergencies and challenges.
Whether you’re dropping off a coat, finding out more about the Winter Coat Project or simply stopping by for a chat, we’d love to see you.
