Youth Social Action Coordinator

 

YMCA St Helens are seeking a part time (20 hours per week) youth social action coordinator to coordinate, drive and deliver a high quality, effective program of opportunities for young people (aged 12-18)  to plan, develop and lead social action activities, complementing their growing team providing support and activities for young people with low level mental health related concerns/issues, helping them to build resilience and develop positive strategies to deal with their mental health,  reducing the need for furthermore intensive support further down the line.  (Salary: £12,000-£12,857 per year (for 20 hours a week) depending on qualifications and experience). 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, drive and deliver high quality opportunities for youth led social action activities (planned, developed and delivered by 12-to-18-year old’s).
  • Connect with and maintain partnerships with youth related organisations/networks
  • Drive the delivery of agreed outcomes and outputs, ensuring monitoring and evaluation is completed and targets are met
  • To work with the Listening service Coordinator to manage and administer our youth and community projects and resources

 

Essential Skills and Attributes:

·Knowledge of/Experience/qualifications in youth work settings and/or youth led social action.

·Passion for youth leadership and youth led social action

·Very strong young people’s skill

·very strong empowerment skills

·Strong commitment to young people and an understanding of the factors affecting their lives, ability to effectively communicate
