Volunteer Survey

The United Nations General Assembly has proclaimed 2026 as the International Year for Volunteers for Sustainable Development (IVY 2026). This global initiative aims to spotlight the vital role of volunteering in achieving sustainable development goals.

A Scoping Group, led by the International Association for Volunteer Effort (IAVE) and including organizations like UNICEF Generation Unlimited, IFRC, Forum, and the Volunteer Groups Alliance, has been established to guide the initiative in partnership with the UN Volunteers Program (UNV).

The group sees IVY 2026 as a chance to secure stronger support and investment in volunteering from governments, civil society, businesses, and other stakeholders. A Global Survey, open until 25 June 2025, invites individuals worldwide to share insights that will shape a Global Call to Action—a roadmap outlining necessary changes and key actors to lead the way.

All individuals involved in volunteering are encouraged to take part in the survey, which is available in English, Spanish, and French. It takes about 10 minutes to complete and is anonymous.
