Widnes Vikings Foundation (Vikings Sports Foundation) is the official registered charity of the famous Widnes Vikings Rugby League Club.
They support the thousands of people, young and old, across the Halton and Merseyside region. Established in 2015 and based at the renowned DCBL Stadium, the Foundation helps change people’s lives, no matter what their age, background, or ability.
They offer an innovative range of sporting, educational, entrepreneurial, health, and welfare programmes allowing individuals to aspire, dream and excel.
There are no limits to what can be learned, delivered, or achieved. They aim to expand the boundaries of excellence and most of all, have great fun along the way.
Outstanding staff and supporting partners ensure their projects are unique, relevant, accessible, and desirable with many being shaped by the very people they target and work alongside.
To help expand the growth and delivery of their new strategy, they are now looking for 3 new Trustees to join the team on a part-time basis, attending monthly (or bi-monthly) meetings for at least one term of three years.

The Role
As a Trustee, you will take on a voluntary position as part of the Board, providing governance to their charity and ensuring they are delivering against their mission.
You will have strong, proven experience in the following areas: health, inclusion, marketing/PR, fundraising and finance
Attending regular meetings (and sub-committees) to help achieve their goals, you will act as a member of their Board to drive them forward with new development strategies.
Ensuring compliance, you will focus on the pursuit of charitable objectives and evaluate our performance against targets, ensuring our financial stability and safeguarding the growing reputation of the Charity!
About You
To be considered as a Trustee, you will need:
– The ability to work with others at leadership level
– An understanding of financial and numerical information
– To be passionate about using sport for social change
