Stephen Holloran has been named the winner of the Halton Culture Champion Award at the Halton and St Helens VCA Volunteer Awards 2026, recognising his outstanding commitment to promoting arts, heritage and community life across the borough.
The award was presented during an especially significant year for Halton, as the borough celebrates its role as the Liverpool City Region Borough of Culture for 2026.
Stephen has dedicated countless hours to helping local people discover and access the cultural opportunities available across Halton. Through videos, interviews, social media, event promotion and community connections, he has consistently shone a spotlight on the individuals and organisations that make the borough special.
His support has extended to community groups, artists, charities and cultural projects, often going far beyond any formal role and without seeking anything in return.
Stephen's enthusiasm for culture and his commitment to promoting the achievements of others have helped organisations reach new audiences, raise their profiles and connect with more residents.
His approach recognises that when local cultural organisations succeed, the whole community benefits. By sharing their stories and encouraging participation, he has helped celebrate the creativity, heritage and community spirit that make Halton unique.
The award was presented by the Worshipful Mayor of Halton, Councillor Pamela Wallace, during the ceremony at The Heath in Runcorn.
The Halton Culture Champion Award recognises individuals who make an exceptional contribution to the borough's cultural life and inspire others to get involved.
Stephen's achievement is a fitting celebration of the volunteers and community champions helping make Culture 26 a memorable year for Halton.
Halton and St Helens VCA congratulates Stephen on his award and thanks him for his continued dedication to promoting local culture and supporting the organisations that bring communities together.
