Star Standard Foundation Stage, January launch!

Halton & St Helens VCA is pleased to announce that the Foundation Stage of our bespoke STAR Standard quality award will be launched on-line in January!

The STAR Standard has been developed by VCA in partnership with local commissioners.  The Foundation Stage covers the basic legal requirements which not-for-profit organisations must have in place, and it is taken from the nine sections of the full award.  It has been designed with two main purposes in mind:

  • To identify any gaps and areas for development for not-for-profit organisations to help them to improve delivery of services and access to funding opportunities.
  • To demonstrate the quality of systems and services of not-for-profit organisations to funders, commissioners, service users and partners.

It will be available only to affiliated members of Halton & St Helens VCA, and as an affiliated member you will be able to:

  • Use the Foundation Stage as a self-assessed development tool within your organisation free of charge, or
  • Submit your evidence to us for assessment.  When all of the criteria have been successfully met, you will receive a Certificate of Achievement and also the STAR Standard logo which you will be able to use on your website and promotional materials to demonstrate to all your stakeholders that you have achieved the quality award.  The award lasts for a period of two years.

Further information about the official launch and information about how to register for the award will be published soon and will be sent out to all our member groups.  In the meantime, if you are not currently an affiliated member and you wish to join, you can do so here:
