St Helens Professionals Invited to Free Neurodevelopmental Conditions Awareness Training

 

Professionals working with children, young people and families in St Helens are invited to attend a fully funded, CPD-accredited training session designed to increase understanding of neurodevelopmental conditions and build confidence in supporting neurodivergent children and young people.

Delivered by ADDvanced Solutions Community Network, the training will take place on Tuesday 6 October 2026, from 9.15am to 4.00pm, at The Beacon, 25 College Street, St Helens, WA10 1TF. The session is open to professionals seeking to develop their knowledge, skills and understanding of neurodevelopmental conditions and the associated needs of children, young people and families.

Participants will explore the differences and similarities between ADHD, autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions, gain a greater understanding of sensory processing difficulties, and learn practical strategies to support emotional regulation and engagement. The training will also cover effective ways to work with families, as well as the importance of reflective practice when supporting neurodivergent children and young people.

The session aims to help professionals:

  • Understand the characteristics of ADHD, autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions.
  • Recognise how different conditions can present in children and young people.
  • Develop practical approaches to supporting neurodivergent individuals.
  • Learn strategies to support emotional wellbeing and regulation.
  • Improve confidence when engaging with families.
  • Strengthen reflective practice and professional understanding.
