Queensberry was established in March 2018 by Nic Martin and Paul Cooper within Cheshire. A key strength of the Queensberry team is the lived experience of the individuals involved. Queensberry believe that lived experience should be much broader than just a personal experience of involvement with the issues at hand, the extensive “lived” professional experience of the co-founders is fundamental to the success of the organisation. With a combined experience of over 30 years across both the education and social carer sectors, co-founders Nic and Paul have experience working in SEBD schools, Social Services, mainstream schools and more recently as the senior leadership team within a Local Authority Pupil Referral Unit working with permanently excluded young people. Our wider team includes Specialist Youth Workers and volunteers who have been selected based upon their extensive professional and personal experiences that help to support with the delivery and continual development of our intervention
The primary responsibilities of the Specialist Youth Workers is to build strong trusting relationships so that young people and their families feel confident to share. They need to deliver intervention using a ‘whole child’ approach underpinned by a contextual safeguarding methodology and trauma informed and restorative practices.
