MRWA Community Fridge Project

As part of a push towards the goals of having a zero waste city region by 2040, Merseyside Recycling Waste Authority and Zero Waste LCR are looking for local community groups, schools or faith spaces that would like to partner with them for a Community Fridge Pilot Project. This fridge/space will offer local residents an alternative to throwing away perfectly good food, as it offers a give and take scheme for unused and unwanted products from within the household. This scheme will differ from the community larders and food hubs in the sense that it will promote household donations as well as surplus commercial stock.  They currently have small pots of funding to aid in the setup of these spaces with partners committing to running the space for approx. 12 months.

They are currently at the stage of identifying potential collaborative partners and so if you are interested in finding our more please contact Ann-Marie Lawrenson : alawrenson@haltonsthelensvca.org.uk
