Liverpool City Region Combined Authority is working with communities, partners, and stakeholders across the LCR to develop an Anti-Racism Strategy. This work is being led by the LCR Race Equality Hub and is in response to the racist and Islamophobic riots that happened last summer following the tragic murders of three children in Southport.
The intention is to create a strategy that talks about the principles, behaviours and actions required for the LCR to show that it is committed to fighting racism and enabling all community members to have access to opportunities and outcomes across all areas of life.
They are holding a meeting scheduled for Thursday 20th March 2025, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at Liverpool Quaker Meeting House or via Teams.
Over the next 12 months, they aim to create a comprehensive strategy and action plan with short, medium, and long-term goals. The strategy will outline clear commitments and actions for public, private, and voluntary sector organisations to help transform our area into an Anti-Racist City Region.
The meeting will provide an opportunity for you to hear more about the work they are doing and for you to share your experiences on the challenges that Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Communities face, along with the actions required to bring about the change required. A more detailed agenda will be circulated nearer the time.
They look forward to your participation in this vital initiative and would be grateful if you could let them know if you are able to attend. If you would like to share your experiences but are not able to attend, then please do let them know.
