A new collaborative initiative aimed at tackling poverty and boosting financial resilience across the Liverpool City Region is set to launch this September. The Income Maximisation Anti-Poverty Partnership (iMAPP), developed in partnership with Right to Succeed and the St Andrews Community Network, will bring together organisations and communities to address income inequality through tailored, practical support.
The iMAPP initiative spans all six boroughs of the Liverpool City Region and is designed to enhance existing anti-poverty frameworks by offering free, sector-specific guidance on income maximisation.
The partnership is built around three core priorities:
- Supporting families facing financial hardship through targeted income maximisation strategies.
- Developing strategic and practical responses to poverty, with a focus on prevention and early intervention.
- Empowering local communities by strengthening existing anti-poverty efforts and promoting a whole-sector approach.
When and Where:
To mark the launch, iMAPP will host a public event on Wednesday 17th September, from 10am to 2pm at Firwood Bootle Cricket Club in Sefton.
Firwood Bootle Cricket Club is conveniently located just three miles from Liverpool City Centre and a short walk from Kirkdale Station.
Free parking is available at the venue for attendees.
The event will feature:
- A panel of cross-sector anti-poverty experts
- Interactive group discussions and community mapping
- Insights into local funding opportunities
- Data-driven approaches to poverty reduction
- Updates on national campaigns including the Crisis and Resilience Fund and the upcoming Child Poverty Strategy
Lunch and refreshments will be provided throughout the day.
Dr Hannah Haycox, one of the programme leads, encourages anyone interested in poverty reduction and community empowerment to attend. “This is a chance to connect, collaborate, and build a stronger, more resilient Liverpool City Region,” she said.
