Wellbeing and Creative Community (WCC) is bringing back its heart-warming Christmas Cards to Care Homes Campaign for a second year and is calling on local residents, schools, businesses and community groups to help make Christmas special for older people living in care homes across St Helens.
The ambitious campaign aims to deliver around 3,500 Christmas cards, ensuring that every resident in every care home across the borough receives a festive message this Christmas. By sending a simple card, supporters can help older people feel remembered, valued and connected during the festive season, particularly those who may not receive many visitors or cards of their own.
Building on the success of last year's campaign, Wellbeing and Creative Community hopes to make this year's initiative bigger and better than ever. Whether handmade or shop-bought, every donated card carries a message of kindness and community spirit, helping to tackle loneliness and spread festive cheer.
Schools, local businesses, community organisations and individuals are all encouraged to get involved by donating Christmas cards or helping to promote the campaign within their networks.
๐ฎ Current Drop-Off Points Include:
- St Helens Minster, Church Square
- Town Hall Offices, Victoria Square
- The Cookhouse, Rainhill
- The Golden Lion, Rainford
Additional collection points are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
The campaign is happy to receive unwritten shop-bought or handmade Christmas cards, which will be distributed to care home residents throughout St Helens ahead of Christmas.
Making sure that no care home resident feels forgotten this Christmas.
Wellbeing and Creative Community โ bringing our community together, one card at a time.
