Have Your Say on Mersey Care's New 24/7 Neighbourhood Mental Health Service Model

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust is inviting residents, community groups, voluntary organisations and professionals to help shape the future of mental health support across the region.

The Trust is currently gathering feedback on its proposed 24/7 Neighbourhood Mental Health Model, a new approach designed to improve access to community mental health services and strengthen support for people closer to home.

The model is a key part of the Government's 10 Year Health Plan for England and forms part of NHS England's Quality Transformation Programme. It aims to bring together mental health services, community organisations and local partners to provide more joined-up, person-centred support, helping people access assistance earlier and preventing situations from reaching crisis point.

The proposed approach would focus on:

  • Improving access to mental health support within local communities
  • Building stronger connections between mental health services and community partners
  • Providing greater continuity of care
  • Creating clearer and easier pathways into support
  • Offering more personalised and meaningful care
  • Improving outcomes for individuals, families and communities
