HAF SUMMER 2023 Applications - now open

Applications for Halton Summer School Holiday Activity programme are now live! Please see link below.

The HAF (Holiday Activity with Food Programme) is provided through funding from the Department For Education.

Working together with a diverse range of children and young people’s providers, to offer positive activities and free lunches to our children and young people in Halton eligible for free school meals and others who are in need, e.g. SEN/SEND, Looked After Children.

All participating children and young people must be age 4-16 years of age and benefit from a maximum of 4 days a week over 4 weeks of the summer school holiday period, consisting of 4 hours of face to face provision a day.

They particularly welcome applications from organisations offering inclusive activities for SEN/SEND children and young people, along with activities that are more Environmentally friendly and Sustainable. 

 Are you able to offer the following? 

  • Physical activity – Minimum of 1 hour Physical activity each day. This can include a range of activities from forest school, outdoor adventure activities, as well as multi sports such as football, dance etc. 
  • Enrichment/Wellbeing activity – Arts and crafts, musical activities or, drama etc. 
  • Nutritious meal - A meal that meets school food standards must be included as part of the offer – This will either be supplied by a number of private sector organisations free of charge or provided by yourself.
  • Nutritional Education – This does not need to be formal, it could be as simple as trying new foods, growing vegetables, understanding how to read food labels, having conversations around the amount of sugar in foods.
