Over the past week, we have had a number of emails offering to give away their late husbands Yamaha baby grand piano.
At first we took this at face value and our Community Connectors asked some of our relevant member organisations if they would be interested, we have since been informed that this could be a scam.
Having googled it ourselves, we have found that it is a current scam:
"Scammers often claim to be giving away a free baby grand piano. They will send pictures and information about the piano that may seem legitimate, but the catch is that you have to pay the shipping cost. After you send the scammers a payment using non-refundable money orders or gift cards, you will never receive the piano and never hear from them again. There have been reports of a free grand piano scam circulating on Facebook, with the advertised free piano photo being of a 2017 Yamaha GC1 grand."

We thought that we should warn our members to look out for this scam.
