Charities and community organisations across Halton and St Helens are being encouraged to take advantage of a range of free AI learning resources developed by CAST, a UK charity that helps social sector organisations make the most of digital and technology.
As artificial intelligence continues to transform the way organisations work, these free resources have been designed to help charities build confidence, develop practical skills and explore how AI can support everyday tasks.
Free AI Courses
CAST has launched four free self-guided AI courses, delivered through weekly emails containing practical guidance, inspiration and activities to help participants develop their knowledge step by step.
Two courses are suitable for anyone working in a charity or social sector organisation:
- Getting Started with AI
- Supporting Your Organisation with AI
There are also two courses designed specifically for leaders of small and medium-sized charities:
- AI for Leaders: Getting Started
- AI for Leaders: Leading Your Organisation
The courses are designed to help organisations understand the opportunities and challenges of AI while developing the confidence to use it responsibly and effectively.
Practical AI Guides for Everyday Tasks
Alongside the courses, CAST has created 17 free AI guides covering some of the most common tasks undertaken by charities and community organisations.
Each guide includes:
- A ready-to-use template prompt
- Step-by-step instructions
- Practical tips and advice
- Guidance that can be used with any generative AI tool
Topics include writing funding applications, improving website content, generating ideas for services and activities, creating impact reports and much more.
The guides are hosted on CAST's Worthwhile Chat platform and are free to access without registration.
