Chief Officer - Raise

Chief Officer – Full-Time - £38-41k plus pension

Raise is a well regarded advice charity delivering high quality services to its clients in welfare benefits, money Advice and employment support. They are seeking a new Chief Officer to lead the organisation through the next exciting phases of their development.

Raise is the leading Advice Agency supporting Housing Associations in and around Liverpool with a turnover of £725,000 28 staff and around 10 volunteers supporting over 2,500 people a year. Their ambition is to broaden the services to more Housing Associations as well as deepen their relationships with existing partners.

Registered Social Landlords house some of the most vulnerable members of society many of whom do not claim all that they are entitled to. Raise was set up initially as a joint venture with one Housing Association to support their tenants and has grown to offer services to other Registered Social landlords as well as the wider public in the areas of Welfare Advice, Debt Advice, Financial management and back to work support. Their services complement and broaden those of their Housing Association partners to ensure clients can access the support they need.

The CO is responsible, with the trustees, for strategy and direction of Raise. The Board delegates responsibility for the day to day management of Raise in accordance with the policies set by the Board. S/he leads a skilled and committed staff and volunteer team, and  holds the external strategic relationships with funders and partners

You will need to have strong leadership skills, knowledge of the charitable sector, and experience of working in advice or a related field. You will also have excellent communication and business skills in order to engage Raise’s key stakeholders and to develop the charity. Experience with finance and change management are also required.
