Capturing BAME Lived Experiences in Halton

Hopefully you will be aware of the work that the Liverpool City Region (LCR) has been doing on a Race Equality Project.  The project is part of the Metro Mayor’s commitment to tackle institutional and systemic racism.   Please do read the press release from last year:-

There are several strands to the work being undertaken, one of which is to capture the lived experience of people living and working across the City Region who identify as Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic or BAME.

Can you help to identify any BAME colleagues/residents who don’t work for the Council.  There is a already a separate piece of work focussing on HBC staff and they now want to look outside the Council.

With that in mind, they would be extremely grateful if you could share this email with anyone who you think might be willing to speak to the external consultant who has been brought in, as a subject matter expert, by the LCR Combined Authority to lead on this piece of work.   This is Jane Eme-Power (Jane.Eme-Power@outlook.com) who has ample lived experience, awareness and knowledge of Liverpool and the surrounding local authority areas.

If any of your staff/colleagues/clients would like to be involved – please do ask them to get in touch with Jane direct to arrange.

Your help would be appreciated, and if you do have any questions – don’t hesitate to give Shelah Semoff a ring on 0151 511 8677

Feel free to share this email as you see fit.
