Fuel: Purpose, Mission, and Activities Purpose & Mission Statement: At Fuel, our mission is to cultivate a vibrant and inclusive community hub where individuals can connect, socialise, and flourish. As a thriving social enterprise established in 2019, we are dedicated to fostering a strong sense of belonging, promoting well-being, and creating a welcoming space for everyone through our café and diverse range of enriching activities. We are committed to nurturing friendships, encouraging community engagement, and providing accessible support for all. Our Activities and Community Engagement: 1. The Fuel Café: Our café is the heart of Fuel, providing an inviting and inclusive atmosphere for people from all walks of life to gather, relax, and forge new connections. We offer a variety of affordable options, catering to diverse dietary preferences and restrictions, ensuring there's something delicious and accessible for everyone to enjoy. 2. Enriching Clubs and Groups: Beyond our culinary offerings, Fuel is a dynamic hub of activity, hosting a wide array of engaging clubs and groups designed to spark interests, encourage learning, and build strong community bonds. Our diverse range of clubs caters to a wide spectrum of interests, including: • Fuel Sisters: A friendly space for women to connect, share, and enjoy social gatherings or creative workshops. • Fuel Brothers: An inclusive environment for men to socialise, pursue hobbies, and build supportive relationships. • Fuel Connect: Our dedicated mental health drop-in service, led by specialist Mental Health First Aiders, offering compassionate, immediate support and personalized pathways to wellbeing. • Fuel Forward: A safe and confidential space for individuals affected by cancer to share experiences and receive peer support. • Neurotribe: A welcoming, low-sensory group for neurodivergent individuals to socialise, pursue interests, and enjoy shared activities. • Woolly Wellbeing Club: A relaxed setting for knitting, crocheting, and other yarn craft enthusiasts to work on projects and share techniques. • Pokémon Club: A lively gathering for Pokémon fans under 18 to battle, trade, discuss strategies, and play games. • Lego Club: An imaginative and collaborative space for under 18s to build, design, and display Lego creations. • Dungeons & Dragons (D&D): Embark on epic adventures and collaboratively tell stories in this popular tabletop role-playing game. • Warhammer: Dedicated to the strategic tabletop game, for painting miniatures, tactical battles, and discussing lore. 18+ • Magic the Gathering: A strategic card game club for players to challenge each other, collect cards, and participate in friendly tournaments. There truly is a club for everyone, providing opportunities to explore interests, connect with like-minded individuals, and discover something new in a supportive environment. 3. Local Business Collaboration & Support: We are deeply committed to supporting our local economy and community. We actively prioritise local businesses as our café suppliers, ensuring the freshness and quality of our ingredients while bolstering the local economy. Furthermore, we foster local business-to-business collaborations to deliver essential support services to the community, primarily through our engaging groups, clubs, and events. These initiatives are specially designed to nurture well-being, cultivate a strong sense of belonging, and, most importantly, ensure everyone has fun. 4. Dedicated Well-being and Support Initiatives: Crucially, our commitment to well-being extends to comprehensive support for our community. We are proud to have Mental Health First Aiders and Cancer Support Champions within our team, ensuring compassionate assistance and guidance are readily available. Furthermore, all our staff are suicide awareness trained, reinforcing our dedication to creating a truly supportive, safe, and understanding environment for all who walk through our doors.
