The Autism Wellbeing Project

Our mission is to empower and support autistic individuals, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives and reach their full potential. We are committed to promoting self-advocacy and driving change within the community, with the firm belief that support should be driven by autistic voices and experiences. The Autism Wellbeing Project CIC provides a range of autism affirming activities and support designed to improve wellbeing, reduce social isolation and help autistic adults feel connected to their community. Our activities include social groups, arts and crafts, walking groups, breakfast meetups, sports sessions, self defence, boxing, virtual reality experiences, mentoring circles and body doubling sessions. We also offer practical one to one mentoring to support people with everyday tasks such as managing routines, completing forms, budgeting and developing independence. Our activities provide safe, welcoming and inclusive spaces where autistic adults can meet others, build friendships, try new experiences and develop confidence at their own pace. We aim to reduce barriers to community participation by offering structured activities, clear information and understanding support, with consideration for sensory needs, communication differences and anxiety. Through these opportunities, we help people develop social connections, improve wellbeing, build life skills and feel more confident accessing activities and services within their wider community. Our approach is person centred and autism affirming, recognising that everyone has different needs, interests and goals.
