Northwest HIV Support CIC

Northwest HIV Support CIC support people living with HIV their families and friends. We support people who are concerned regarding HIV and we raise awareness on the importance of testing in the community. We offer free HIV home testing kits to anyone who wishes to test and we signpost on to Axess sexual health should a persons test show a positive result. We refer on to a qualified counsellor if a person needs more emotional. At our organisation we hold a drop in service and we also run craft classes, we provide lunch for our service user's and plan activities from their feedback what they would like to do. We are also offer support to the LGBTQA+ community with homophobic hate crime, disclosure of sexuality and isolation. Our organisation supports and educates people who have come to live in Halton form other countries, to raise awareness in the importance of testing or if they are HIV positive to help them gain medication and health checks with Axess Sexual health as not everyone who enters the country is tested.

Halton Pride

Halton Pride are celebrating 50 years since the first Pride took place from Hyde Park to Trafalgar Square in London on the 1st July 1972.

This is being held on Sunday 14th August 2022 from 12pm-10pm at the Castle pub in Halton village Runcorn. This is a pilot events with views to a bigger two day event in 2023 and annually thereafter.

If anyone would like to be involved please contact Northwest HIV Support CIC or Charlie at the Castle pub. This is to bring all communities together and stand in solidarity. It’s a family oriented and there will be live music DJ’s and lots more.

World Aids Day Vigil

Northwest HIV Support CIC are holding their first annual World Aids Day vigil on the 1st December at St Andrews Church in Runcorn (27 Linkway, Runcorn WA7 5EJ). It will start at 7pm, however if anyone would like to join the walk from the Grangeway Community Centre (WA7 5HA) with candles across to the church, they will be meeting at 6.30pm at Grangeway Community Centre, weather permitting.

There will be tea coffee mulled wine mince pies and cakes after the vigil. Harts n voices choir will also be performing too.

Please feel free to come along to help commemorate those lost to Aids/HIV related illnesses and to stand with the people living with HIV today.

Let us never forget one of the most destructive pandemics in history.
