This Christmas, Home Instead is once again inviting local people to make a difference through its much-loved Be a Santa to a Senior campaign, which aims to bring festive cheer to older people who may be experiencing loneliness or isolation during the holiday season.
The campaign encourages individuals, community groups and organisations to donate thoughtful gifts that can help older members of the community feel remembered, valued and connected at Christmas. Suggested donations include warm socks, woolly hats, gloves, soft slippers, fleece throws, toiletries, puzzle books, hot water bottles and other age-appropriate gifts that can provide comfort and companionship during the winter months.
Halton & St Helens VCA is proud to be supporting this fantastic initiative and is encouraging members, volunteers and residents across Halton and St Helens to get involved. Every donation, no matter how small, can help brighten someone's Christmas and show that our communities care about older people who may otherwise face the festive season alone.
As part of the campaign, donations can be dropped off at participating collection points across the area, including St Marie's Church, Widnes, helping ensure gifts reach older people in our local communities in time for Christmas.
By working together, we can make the festive season a little warmer, kinder and more connected for older residents across Halton and St Helens. For more information about the campaign, please contact Home Instead on 01928 733020.
