SIGN UP YOUR WORKPLACE TO THE ACTIVE ST HELENS BUDDYBOOST CHALLENGE
Registration open now | FREE to all St Helens businesses
Challenge starts 1st Feb 2021 | Running for 4 weeks | FREE for employees to take part
During 2020 it has been more important than ever to look after the health and wellbeing of our employees. We also know that employee mental health has been affected by restrictions and different ways of working over the past year. We know from evidence that employees who are more physically active experience better mental health, take fewer days off sick, stay in work and are more productive in their role.
buddyboost is an inclusive challenge aimed at encouraging employees from across St Helens to be more active, as part of a virtual group of friends or colleagues supporting each other along the way. Employees sign up to the free app as part of a group, and support each other to complete 26 minutes of physical activity a day for 26 days in a row – logging their progress on the app each day and sharing their progress and conversations with their buddy group.
Activities can be done outside of normal working hours, but we would encourage employers to allow staff to use work time to take part too. Colleagues can choose to spend their 26 minutes doing the likes of walking, jogging, dancing or doing a workout – anything that gets the heart pumping and of course ensuring that participation fits in with the latest Covid-19 social distancing guidance.
We’re anticipating dozens of organisations from across St Helens, big and small, to be taking part in the buddyboost challenge, and we’d love to see your organisation sign up and take part too. Signing up and taking part is completely free for all St Helens based organisations and employees, and if your workplace registers via the link below we will send you an information email with posters, text and information that you can circulate around your workforce.
