Data Protection. What will we do with the information you give us?

We will not:
• sell or give any of your details to a third party without your permission.
(unless legally required to do so).

We will:
• keep you up to date with information and events by including you on our mailing/email list.
• hold your information confidentially, using it only with your agreement
• use the information to help us match volunteers to your opportunities.
• use your information to write statistical reports (without identify particular organisations/individuals)

You have the right to:
• have your details to be removed from our files.
• see information about you we have on computer or paper.
• have incorrect or irrelevant information relating to you corrected.

The National Volunteering Database (NVD)
If you choose we can upload the details of your volunteering opportunities NVD. This information will then be available to the public on the do-it web site ( where they can search to find opportunities that match their interests.

We upload details of your organisation and volunteering opportunity these include:-

• Your VCH organisation registration number
• The purpose (or mission statement) of your organisation
• The activities of the organisation

Casting your net further a field
If your organisation is seeking volunteers from a wider geographical area we can forward your information to the other volunteer centres on Greater Merseyside. You can choose this option by ticking the areas your opportunities cover (section B).

Section A Organisation Registration
  • By selecting more than one district, you need to be aware that there may be an increase in expenses claims from volunteers outside of the area you normally operate in.  
  • Your opportunity details will also be forwarded to the relevant volunteer centre for advertising on a local level.
  • If you only have one opportunity and are recruiting in a different district than your geographical base, your registration forms will be held by the VC where your opportunity is located.
